Error Message

"An error has occurred on the page. You should refresh before continuing.  Please contact Customer Service for assistance."

Reason and Solution

Temporary files stored by your browser may interfere with the proper functioning of MarketSight, causing general errors to occur within the interface. This most often happens after a patch has been released.

How to Solve
If refreshing the page does not resolve the error, please clear your browser cache as far back as possible and restart all browser windows.

How to clear temporary internet files in IE (Note: you'll specifically want to clear your Temporary Internet Files and website files.)

Using an alternative browser temporarily can also work around this issue.


Error Message
"MarketSight has encountered an error. You do not have permissions to view the requested item. Please contact the owner of the item."

Reason and Solution

If a MarketSight user has shared a crosstab, chart, or other item with you, but you are unable to view it, you do not have the needed permissions to access the content.

How to Solve
Locate the user who created the item, or an account administrator. He or she will need to edit the permissions settings of the item so you are able to see it.
