Formatting Dashboards

Overview

MarketSight allows you to format your dashboard size and colors, as well as adjust the background and borders of objects in the dashboard. If left uncustomized, the default is a white background with black text.

Note: chart colors are set separately via the PowerPoint templates.

Change the Overall Size of the Dashboard

  1. Open the dashboard editor
  2. On the Design tab, specify exact pixel dimensions, or
  3. Click and drag the handle in the lower right corner of the dashboard to adjust the size, or
  4. Click on the Auto scaling dropdown to choose from options that will scale content to fit available browser space
  5. Save your changes

Change Dashboard Background and Border Colors

  1. Open the dashboard editor
  2. On the Design tab, click on the appropriate color dropdowns
  3. In the color picker that appears, select any square for a web-safe color, or
  4. Click on the "Custom Color" tab to specify a custom color with a color picker or a hex code
  5. Click Apply

Change Object Background and Border Colors

  1. Select the desired item
  2. Choose Item Options in the gray toolbar
  3. Click on the appropriate dropdowns
  4. In the color picker that appears, select any square for a web-safe color, or
  5. Click on the "Custom Color" tab to specify a custom color with a color picker or hex code
  6. Click Apply

Change Page Button Colors

  1. On the Design tab, click on the color boxes under the "Pages" section
  2. In the color picker that appears, select any square for a web-safe color, or
  3. Click on the "Custom Color" tab to specify a custom color with a color picker or hex code
  4. Click Apply

Change Object Positioning

  1. Select the desired item(s)
  2. If needed, click on Arrange in the gray toolbar to Group the items together for greater ease in adjusting multiple objects at once
  3. Under Arrange in the gray toolbar, choose Bring to Front or Send to Back to move the item in front of or behind all others, respectively
  4. Under Arrange in the gray toolbar, choose Bring Forward or Send Backward to move the item in front of or behind other items
  5. Select Align in the gray toolbar to adjust item alignment on the dashboard
