MarketSight - Upload With DataSync
Overview
Once an administrator has set up a Data Source and given users access to it, users may add new datasets into MarketSight from that source.
Upload a Dataset from Confirmit
- Go to Datasets
- Click New in the menu
- Choose "Dataset"
- Select the Data Source from the Source drop down menu (A) (if you have not already created a Data Source, click here)
- Enter External Project ID (B) (located in Confirmit)
- Select the desired DataSync Mode (C) (see the last section of this article)
- Tell MarketSight if the dataset should sync automatically (D) (see "How Often do DataSync Datasets Update?" below)
- Enter a unique name for this dataset (E)
- Enter optional description
- Click OK
Upload a Dataset from Qualtrics
- Go to Datasets
- Click New in the menu
- Choose "Dataset"
- Select the Data Source from the Source drop down menu (A) (if you have not already created a Data Source, click here)
- Enter External Project ID (B) (located in Qualtrics)
- Select the desired DataSync Mode (C) (see the final section of this article)
- Tell MarketSight if the dataset should sync automatically (D) (see "How Often do DataSync Datasets Update?" below)
- Enter a unique name for this dataset (E)
- Enter optional description
- Click OK
How Often Do DataSync Datasets Update?
Manually Update a DataSync Dataset
- Go to Datasets
- Right click on the dataset
- Select Properties
- Click Sync Now
- Wait until Update Complete is displayed
- Click OK
Check a Dataset's DataSync History
- Go to Datasets
- Right click on the dataset
- Select Properties
- Click View History
How To Find the ID
Which DataSync Mode Do I Choose?
Option | Description |
---|---|
Append New Data Only | Adds new data to the dataset. |
Append if Possible, Otherwise Replace | First attempts to append new data to the original dataset. If an append is not possible due to changes in the survey structure or variables, the dataset will be replaced to reflect the most current survey. |
Full Replace | Replaces the original dataset, equivalent to overwriting the old version. |
