Add a Question

This article will show you how to add a question.

Once you are in the Survey Authoring Tool. Here there are 3 ways to add a question.

Click on the 'Add a Question' Button on the bottom left of the question tree.
The second way is to add on question directly onto a page, if you already have one.
1. Click on the 3 dots on the top right corner of the page.
2. Click on 'Add Question'
The 3rd way is also by adding a question directly onto a page
1. Click on '+ New Question' button on the page you would like to add the question to

The 'New Question' box will then appear. Next you will:

Name the question as needed. By default the system will have a question name but you can adjust as needed.
You can select a question type from the menus:
1. Standard Questions list
  1. Click on the 'Standard' Questions menu (default)
  2. Click on the one you want
2. Advanced Questions list
  1. Click on the 'Advanced' Questions menu
  2. Click on the one you want
3. From the Library
  1. Click on the 'Library' Questions menu
  2. Search through the available libraries
  3. Select the one (or more) you want use by clicking on the box next to it
  4. Enter a question name

Once you have your question(s) selected, its time to select where you want to add it using the menu below.
The 'Placement' drop-down gives you 3 options:
1. End of Section (New Page) - By default it will create a new page containing this new question and add it as the very last question (the bottom of the question tree)
2. AFTER - Allows you to add it in place AFTER either a page or a question.
3. BEFORE - Allows you to add it in place BEFORE either a page or a question
  1. If you select BEFORE/AFTER a Question, it will be added BEFORE/AFTER the question selected and on the same page
  2. If you select BEFORE/AFTER a Page, it will be added BEFORE/AFTER the question selected and on its own page
Click 'Create' when you are done and your question(s) will be added in the location requested
